Privacy Policy

This policy explains, in plain English, what personal information we hold when you have an Easy Legal Spain account, what we do with it, and the rights you have. It covers this website and your account. Each paid service (for example Easy210Spain) also describes its own details on its own website — the person responsible is the same.

1. Who is responsible for your data

We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer — the law does not require one for a firm of our size and activity. Your privacy questions are handled directly by the firm at the email above.

2. What information we hold

• Your account: your name, your email address and your password. Your password goes directly to our secure login service (Supabase) — we never see it.
• Your matters: when you order a service, the information and documents that service needs (for example property, tax or family details). Each service explains this on its own website.
• Site usage: basic statistics about how the site is used (which pages are visited, on what kind of device), collected with an analytics tool (PostHog). Visitors who are not logged in are not individually profiled.

3. What we use it for

• To run your account and keep it secure.
• To deliver the services you order and to contact you about them.
• To answer you when you write to us.
• To send the emails the account itself needs — such as the confirmation email when you sign up.
• To understand how the site is used, so we can improve it.

We do not sell your information to anyone.

4. Why we are allowed to use it

European data-protection law (GDPR) asks us to name a legal basis for each use. In plain words:

• Your account and the services you order: we need your data to do what you asked us to do (a contract with you).
• Keeping certain records: lawyers and tax advisers are legally obliged to keep some records for set periods (a legal obligation).
• Site statistics and security: our legitimate interest in running the site well, using as little data as possible.
• Anything optional: only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

5. How long we keep it

• Account details: for as long as your account exists. If you close it, we delete them, except what the law obliges us to keep.
• Files on your matters: as long as the law requires for legal-professional records — tax and legal paperwork must be kept for set legal periods even after a matter closes.
• Site statistics: only as long as they are useful for the purpose above.

6. Who else sees it

• The people at the firm who work on your account or your matter.
• The technical providers that run the platform for us: Supabase (login and secure database), Vercel (website hosting) and PostHog (usage statistics). They process data on our instructions, not for their own use. Our login and database provider stores your account data in the European Union.
• Official bodies, only when a service you ordered requires it — for example, the Spanish tax office when we file a tax form for you — or when the law demands it.

7. Your rights

You can, at any time and free of charge:

• ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
• correct anything that is wrong;
• ask us to delete what the law does not oblige us to keep;
• receive your data in a usable format, or have it sent to someone else;
• object to a use of your data, or ask us to limit it.

To use any of these rights, email legal@expatabogados.com. We may need to check you are who you say you are before acting, and we will answer within one month, as the law requires.

8. If you are not happy

You can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Authority (AEPD) at www.aepd.es. We would of course appreciate the chance to put things right first — write to legal@expatabogados.com.

9. Changes to this policy

When we update this policy we will publish the new version on this page and change the date at the top.
